Eimear was introduced to the practice of yoga at the age of 8. She instantly found a connection to the practice, which she cultivated over time culminating in her 200hr Teacher Training in 2011. She furthered her studies in yin with Josh Summers (2014, 2015) and Hatha with Donna Farhi (2013), Shiva Rea (2014), Lisa Petersen (2015) and Dave Curtis (2017). She has completed modules on The Elbowroom's and Lisa Petersen's advanced teacher trainings respectively. Throughout her time as a yin teacher Eimear has developed a loyal client base. She welcomes the opportunity to share the benefits of her experience with Yin University participants.
Eimear has gained extensive teaching experience in a variety of corporate, educational, dance and community-based settings. She is an advocate for yoga for children and the integration of yoga into the primary school curriculum. She has educated primary school teachers on the use of yoga in the primary classroom.
Grace discovered yoga when she was living in Paris after university, and soon she knew this would be a lifelong love affair. A student first, she has been practising for the last 11 years and considers continual learning one of the cornerstones of her teaching and practice.
She first trained as a Bikram Yoga teacher in California in 2013, leaving the classroom to spend three years travelling and teaching yoga full-time in the southern hemisphere. She found Yin Yoga in Auckland early 2014 and completed Yin Yoga (2015) and Yin/Yang Yoga Therapy (2017) trainings with Mysan Sidbo (assistant to Paul Grilley in Australia) in Bali, Insight Yoga training with Sarah Powers in Sydney (2015), and Yin Mindfulness training with Josh Summers (2016 in Dublin.
Grace's yin yoga teaching stems from a strong awareness of anatomical singularities and meridian theory. Her interest in transpersonal therapy and practice of vipassana meditation provide her with much material to draw from for inspiration. Her classes are challenging and transformatice, with compassion and humour always present and ambiance-enhancing music playlists an added treat.
