My interest in complementary therapies began in my teenage years as I was blessed come from a
family of successful holistic practitioners and teachers and would often help out on courses,
learning the techniques myself in the process. During my time in university studying Health and
Society I took a number of massage courses to become a fully qualified practitioner and haven't
looked back since.
I have found that the integration of massage and complementary treatments
into peoples busy lives is an integral and powerful tool for maintaining balance and keeping stress
at bay. I have been involved in setting up healing spaces at festivals and events, and recently
helped set up a beautiful treatment room in the Fumbally Stables in Dublin 8, which is used by a
dynamic team of holistic practitioners. My work in this field has lead me to working with vulnerable
people in the community such as those with intellectual and physical disabilities, mental health
issues and addiction. I have found that the response from these clients to gentle, loving massage
has been transformational to the way I work.
By using intuition and a slow approach with those
who are challenged with verbal or physical communication, I feel that my intuition with every client
has become stronger and I have learnt to ‘listen with my hands’ to tailor treatments for each
I completed most of my training through the London Centre of Indian Champissage and I specialise
in Ayurvedic treatments which incorporate ancient Indian techniques to rejuvenate and revitalise
mind, body & spirit. I like to work with my clients by specialising treatments for each individual
person, I will often combine a range of Ayurvedic techniques with relaxing Swedish massage
techniques to offer a complete head to toe experience.
One of my favourite treatments to give and
receive is Facial Rejuvenation also known as ‘Natural Facelift Massage’. This beautifully relaxing
facial treatment is magically effective form as little as one treatment. Happy clients often report a
reduction in appearance of lines, puffiness and darkness under eyes, plumpness of the skin,
reduction in redness, and better sleep and digestion. This treatment is one I see so much value in
as its offering a truly holistic and natural approach to rejuvenation, that makes people feel good
inside and out.
In a society where so much emphasis and attention is placed on ‘anti-ageing’ and
being flawless, people often turn to invasive and expensive procedures such as botox, fillers and
harsh chemical laden products, it is one of my greatest pleasures to introduce people to the
healing power of ancient Ayurvedic techniques to show that there is always an alternative.
