Anne Hughes

Anne Hughes is a dedicated and caring acupuncturist, herbalist and naturopath. Anne graduated from a 1600-hour acupuncture programme at the SSC Acupuncture Institute, a leading institute of Traditional Oriental Medicine, in Toronto, Canada. (Presently acupuncture training in Ireland ranges from courses of 3 weekends duration, to a maximum of 900 hours). She then went on to train as a herbalist and naturopath in The College of Naturopathic Medicine in Dublin, Ireland. 

 
Anne has been working as a holistic practitioner for 5 years and a journalist writing about Irish alternative medicine practitioners in Social & Personal Magazine described her as “one of the best therapists I have ever met”.  As an acupuncturist, her primary training is in both Japanese and Chinese acupuncture and she is currently one of only a few practitioners in Ireland using the powerful synergistic blend of both modalities. 

Anne has studied numerous oriental medicine modalities such as Medical Qi Gong, Auricular Acupuncture (ear acupuncture), Tui Na (Chinese) Massage, and Shiatsu. She has also completed courses Aromatherapy and Reflexology and travelled to India to study Ayurveda, (the Indian system of traditional medicine). 

Anne treats a full range of complaints including the musculoskeletal, (sports injuries, arthritis, back pain, knee pain), emotional/psychological, (stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, insomnia), gastrointestinal (constipation, ulcers, nausea, diarrhoea), neurological (sciatica, headaches, general neuralgias), and addictions (alcohol, smoking, food, drugs, gambling). Furthermore, she is particularly interested in treating acute and chronic pain, psychological/emotional issues (Anne's B.A (hons.) is in Psychology and Philosophy) and addiction (Anne's M.A (hons.) is in Addiction Studies). 

Anne is a registered member of the T.C.M.C.I and the I.R.H and her acupuncture treatments are approved and reimbursable with healthcare insurance providers.

€70 for the 1st consultation (with acupuncture treatment): 90 mins €70 
Follow up sessions: 60 mins €50 

Naturopathy 
1st consultation: 60-90 mins €60

Follow up session (acupuncture and *herbal prescription) 1 hour €60

*The prices for herbs required when the herbal prescription is filled, after the consultation or follow up is carried out, vary in price based on amount of herbal medicine required. For example a 100ml bottle of herbs (1 weeks worth) would be €15.00 and a 300ml bottle (3 weeks worth) would be €45.00.
