Anna Fiona Keogh - IACAT, ADMP UK

Sometimes we feel that we are stuck and don''t know which way to turn. It can be very difficult for us to make sense of what we''re feeling and thinking. It can also be very difficult for us to express ourselves. We need a space where we can pause and reflect on where we are in our journey.

I believe that we can find healing and a pathway through hard times by connecting to our creative selves within the context of a trusting relationship. Through dance movement psychotherapy, I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore and express your feelings and thoughts in a creative way, by using words and movement and other creative means. I work in a holistic way drawing on many therapeutic approaches. I tailor my approach to each particular individual and work with people of all ages and a wide range of issues and experiences.

Dance movement psychotherapy or DMT, is based on the idea that the way you move is linked to the way you feel and think. By exploring your movement and dance, you will learn more about yourself. This will help you to explore different options and make choices in your day to day life.

For over 50 years, DMTs have been leading the way in understanding how body and mind interact in health and in illness. While the origins of dance as a healing art lie in ancient history, the contemporary profession incorporates dance, movement & psychological theories and therapeutic practices developed primarily in Europe and the U.S.A. The profession is also informed by continuing international research. For more information go to www.admt.org.uk and www.adta.org.

I completed my MA in Dance movement psychotherapy in Goldsmiths University of London. I am registered with Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapies (IACAT) (www.iacat.ie) and the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK (ADMP UK) and adhere to the code of ethics and practice of both associations. I work with individuals and groups in a variety of different settings. I also facilitate courses on creative movement and dance, and ''mindfulness through movement''.

The initial fee is €50 and follow up appointments are €60.
