PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR SPIRITUALITY
In our busy contemporary western culture, our spiritual lives often get overlooked and undermined. Spirituality is a dimension of being, just like our physical, cognitive, emotional and sexual functions are. Just because we're sometimes underdeveloped in one area of our being, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It can often get shut down, lie dormant or in some cases, get frustrated. In other instances, people are spiritually flooded and find general functioning a challenge.
Perhaps you have had a powerful spiritual experience and need support as a result, report spiritual problems or confusion, feel spiritually overwhelmed or in spiritual crisis (sometimes called 'spiritual emergency').
Rigid familial spiritual beliefs can even be a barrier for some people, meaning they need a non-judgemental ear to discuss this with.
It's not uncommon for people to just need a space to discuss their spiritual needs therapeutically, somewhere that's non-judgemental and confidential.
Psychotherapy can help you to explore what your spirituality means to you.
