Indian Head Massage is a form of treatment that works on the the muscular tissues of the scalp, neck, shoulders upper back, upper arms and face. These areas hold much of the stress we accumulate in day to day living. Some symptoms are tension in the scalp, neck and shoulders with heaviness, tightness, muscle fatigue, headaches and migraine.

The benefits of Indian Head Massage includes an easing out of the muscles of the neck and shoulders especially, teasing out fibrous knots. Circulation and lymph drainage are enhanced in building tissues and getting rid of toxins. Thus the immune system is given a boost. The scalp massage revitalizes circulation at the hair roots promoting healthy growth and texture of the hair. Tensions and headaches are eased and the mind, body and spirit return to their own centre of calm.

Although not for children, this practice is suitable for adults of any age, whilst pregnant, and for the elderly and infirm. Indian Head Massage is perfect during work as a half hour "time out" or at the end of a long day to help you unwind! However, as with all massage if you have any doubts about a present condition and are receiving medical treatment, please consult your therapist.

One of its advantages is that it does not need specialized equipment. It can be practiced on the recipient seated on a massage chair or on a massage table. You can choose to remain fully clothed or use a a towel wrap if you choose to use oil for the massage. The treatment takes from 45 to 60 minutes. Treatment includes a brief consultation.
