Of all the available treatments for infertility, acupuncture isn't one that people usually think of first. But it's actually one of the safest and most effectiveness treatments for infertility known to modern science.

Why does it work so well?
Because infertility isn't usually a physical problem. It's often an issue related to circulation or energy channels that govern the vitality of your body's organs (including reproductive organs). Rebalancing those bioelectric channels can create enormous healing changes in the function of your reproductive organs.

And the best part?
Acupuncture is non-invasive, surprisingly. The needles themselves are virtually painless and barely enter the skin. That's a huge contrast to the highly invasive (and embarrassing) probing, inserting, extracting, injecting and poking around typically undertaken by conventional infertility clinics. Fertility is an area where acupuncture excels and comes into it's own. Acupuncture works along side western medicine as in IVF and ICU treatments to improve their effectiveness and as a stand alone treatment successfully treats many unexplained fertility cases and Genealogical conditions.

In brief, Chinese medicine can help to improve the success rate of ART (assisted reproductive technology) in a number of ways:
1. -Improve the function of the ovaries to produce better quality eggs
2. -Regulate the hormones to produce a larger number of follicles
3. -Increase blood flow to the uterus an increase the thickness of the uterine lining
4. -Relax the patient and decrease their stress
5. -Prevent the uterus from contracting
6. -Lessen the side effects of drugs used in ART (assisted reproductive technology)
7. -Strengthen the immune system
8. -Improve semen to create better quality and quantity of embryos
9. -Decrease chances of miscarriage

Both Chinese and Western Medicines have accomplished great feats over the last century, treating numerous diseases, saving thousands of lives, and improving the quality of live for countless others. Using the best of both worlds, it is nowadays possible to significantly increase the success rate of IVF, IUI,ZIFT, ISCI, AHT, TET, PGD, GIFT, SSR.

In fact, a recent German study found that using acupuncture with IVF achieved a 42% clinical pregnancy rate in the test group, compared to 26% in the control group that did not receive acupuncture. This study involved giving acupuncture for just one day, shortly before and after the transfer of the embryos. This rate further increases to at least 60% with broader support of both Chinese herbs and acupuncture in preparation for and support throughout the IVF procedure. As well, both of these modalities can significantly reduce the risk of miscarriage by supporting the female during her entire pregnancy.

A large number of patients who have tried ART(assisted reproductive technology) several times and were unsuccessful have soon become pregnant after Chinese medicine treatments. In clinical observation, the ultrasound shows, that, after acupuncture, the colour of women’s ovaries change from cloudy to bright and clear. The follicles usually double in number, the lining of the uterus becomes thicker, and the number of embryos increases significantly. Patients experience less side effects from the `western drugs and feel more at ease and happy. For male patients. the semen quality significantly improves and the sperm number greatly increases.
