WHAT IS ASHTANGA YOGA?
Ashtanga means "eight limbs" in Sanskrit, which refers to the eight limbs of yoga laid out in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The steady cycle of inhales and exhales provides the practitioner with a calming, mental focal point. Additinally, vinyasa and Ujjayi together create internal heat, which leads to purification of the body through increased circulation and sweating.

Ashtanga yoga is extremely popular. It is a vigorous, athletic style of practice. It appeals to those who like a sense of order and who like to do things independently. This style of yoga is fast flowing in comparison to other forms of yoga.
This is a strong class - not advised for beginners unless you are physically fit/active.
